Feed The Children

Together we can make a difference and that’s exactly what the family at Garrett Popcorn Shops® and the team at American Airlines just accomplished last week. Garrett Popcorn in partnership with American Airlines, donated 100% of profits from on-board purchases made from June 5 – June 30. Thanks to the support of our customers, Garrett Popcorn Shops® will donate $25,000 to Feed the Children, headquartered near Oklahoma City, to support the families affected by the storms. Additionally, Garrett Popcorn gave 5,000 bags of The Chicago Mix to Feed the Children that were distributed throughout the communities to treat the families both in body and spirit.

“The recent Oklahoma tornadoes were incredibly personal to the team at Feed The Children, and we are committed to the long-term recovery efforts for all of those affected,” said Erin Engelke, VP of PR and Communications for Feed The Children. “We are extremely grateful to Garrett Popcorn Shops for their support of our work and for their generous donation, which will ultimately ensure our mission is fulfilled.”

“Garrett Popcorn Shops® is committed to making a difference in the community. It is our hope that The Chicago Mix will brighten their day and their spirits. It is wonderful to partner with organizations like Feed The Children and companies like American Airlines to help provide some relief.” Megan Chody, Community Relations Director for Garrett Popcorn Shops.

Oklahoma Relief

Garrett Popcorn Shops® in partnership with American Airlines invites passengers to join us in support of the families affected by the devastating storms in Oklahoma. For each bag of Garrett Popcorn Shops’ handcrafted Chicago Mix purchased on-board from June 6 – June 30, Garrett Popcorn Shops will donate 100% of its profits, up to $25,000, to Tornado relief.

For every dollar Garrett Popcorn Shops® contributes, they will also make a like-value donation of The Chicago Mix to charities serving the families of Oklahoma.

“Garrett Popcorn Shops® is committed to making a difference in the community. It is our hope that The Chicago Mix will brighten their day and their spirits. Mural Statik

Enjoy a preview of the coming mural.

Kenwood and Simeon high school students*, under the guidance of artists Rahmaan “Statik” Barnes and Andy Bellomo, are creating a new mural for our 87th Street Shop (737 E. 87th Street). The mural project is a collaboration designed to give area students a rewarding, real-world experience creating art while exploring the possibilities of this as a career.

The mural will feature kids and music with a POP of everyone’s favorite gourmet popcorn. The completed project is expected to be revealed in late June.

*Students are participating via After School Matters.
