On June 12th, Rick Bayless, the Frontera Grill staff, farmers, restaurant goers, and all those who believe in a local, sustainable agricultural system held a fundraiser in support of the Frontera Farmer Foundation. Now in its eight year, the foundation has given nearly $850,000 in capital development grants to 65 small and medium sized local farms in the Midwest.
At this all-day event, guests sampled tastings and bought products from local farmers and suppliers, enjoyed demos from the test kitchen, and participated in a silent auction. The day ended with Frontera’s Dinner Like No Other, which featured a live auction from area supporters. Garrett Popcorn contributed a two gallon tin of Chicago Mix to the cause.
