Here’s what you may have missed recently with Garrett Popcorn Shops®…

Tins the Season Thanksgiving Day ParadeIn Parades…
We took part in two parades to kick off the holiday season. On November 19 the Tins the Season float made its second appearance in the BMO Harris Magnificent Mile Parade®. During the festival, we learned that American Idol Star Colton Dixon was a fan of The Chicago Mix! We’re happy he made an appearance in the Shops.

How I Met Your Mother We handed out The Chicago Mix to fans along the McDonald’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on State Street, our first year participating in this annual holiday tradition. You can relive the fun of both parades on our Facebook photo album.

On Television…
Garrett Popcorn Shops® earned a “Stamp of Approval” when our Signature Celebrate Tin made an appearance in a recent episode of How I Met Your Mother.

Watch the clip to see how Marshall uses CheeseCorn and CaramelCrisp® to score points with his boss.

27 West Jackson

Birthday Celebrations…
Our 27 West Jackson location celebrated the first year at its new location on November 14. Fans were treated to an upgrade when they whispered “Happy Birthday”.

Did you miss the fun? Don’t worry! We have another birthday coming up at 87th/Cottage Grove on December 23!

Festival of Lights Float

Festival of Lights Float

Headed to the Magnificent Mile lights Festival® presented by BMO Harris Bank tomorrow? Garrett Popcorn Shops® will be there, too! There’s lots happening throughout the day, so it’s best to plan to see (and taste) it all!

Between 11a.m. – 3:30p.m. families can enjoy live musical performances at the BMO Harris Bank Stage in Pioneer Court (401 N. Michigan Ave.). The lineup includes China Anne McClain, American Idol finalists Haley Reinhardt and Casey Abrams, and others. If you find that you’re a little thirsty after so much entertainment, walk over to the Garrett booth. We’ll have hot cups of CaramelCrisp® Apple Cider for sale. The best part, aside from the amazing taste, is that $1 from each sale benefits The Boys & Girls Club in your community.

While there, you may want to start your holiday shopping with a tin of The Chicago Mix. We’ll have seasonal, 1 gallon tins available for $34. Cash only.

Continue shopping in Pioneer Court until 5p.m. or walk along Michigan Avenue to see the decorations and take in the entries to the window design contest. You may find yourself near our 625 N. Michigan Avenue Shop as you wander the scene. If you don’t have time to stop before the parade, this Shop and our Ogilvie Station Shop will be open until 9p.m. for your convenience.

Tins the Season!

Tins the Season!

Find your spot along Michigan Avenue before 5:30p.m. when the Lights Festival procession begins. Over fifty floats are in the parade this year, and we’re proud to make our first appearance with our “Tins the Season” float! Carolers will sing songs of holidays and popcorn while customers anticipate the savory treats waiting for them behind the counter. Our float will smell as great as it looks, too, with the wafting aroma of CaramelCrisp® making people crave a taste. Fortunately, we’ll have runners handing out samples of The Chicago Mix to waiting fans.

Stick around until the end of the parade. We plan to “Shake it up!” a little before the grand finale of Santa and fireworks!

If you’re unable to attend, we’ll be broadcast on ABC 7, or you can get a real time feel for the parade action by following our Twitter account, @GarrettPopcorn. Hope to see you there!
