Tinnovate on Earth Day

Upcycling is the process of giving potentially recyclable items more value. While Garrett tins are 100% recyclable, most items that enter that stream are “downcycled” into raw materials and used to create items with lesser value.

While we have ideas about how to reuse and re-purpose our tins, we know that our fans are just as passionate and creative. After all, one of the best ideas from our fans was to combine CheeseCorn™ and CaramelCrisp® into The Chicago Mix!

Now, we need you to Tinnovate!

If you have an upcycling idea for your Garrett Tin, please share it with the world. We’ll feature your great ideas on our Facebook page, Pinterest, and on our site to inspire others to do their part to make the world a sweeter place!

  • Read the Submission Rules.

Thank you!

Tinnovate With Garrett Popcorn

How can you eat Garrett Popcorn and help the environment? Upcycle your tin! Upcycling is the process of making an existing object into something new and exciting. We hope you’ll agree, there’s still plenty to enjoy when the tin is empty.

Submit a photo of your best “Tinnovation” and you could be featured on our Pinterest board and our Facebook page!

Upcycle your tin and together let’s make the world a greener place.

Here’s what we’re doing:

  • Our ingredients are locally sourced to help reduce our carbon footprint
  • Only using soy inks and unbleached napkins
  • Using energy efficient lighting in our Shops
  • Sourcing resource-efficient, recycled or renewable packaging where possible
  • Using recyclable craft and shopping bags
  • Supporting the Chicago Gateway Green Project
