Black History Month

In honor of Black History Month, Garrett Popcorn Shops® will donate 10% from all in-Shop and online tin sales to Black Ensemble Theater. This organization, founded in 1976 by Jackie Taylor, works to eradicate racism through the utilization of theater arts.

The current show, From Doo Wop to Hip Hop, chronicles the evolution of music in the African American Culture from the 50s to present day. It embraces the old with the new through musical performances representing classic Doo Wop as well as the Hip Hop era. You have until April 14 to see this classic in the making.

Black Ensemble Theater

The mission of the Black Ensemble Theater is to eradicate racism and its damaging effects upon our society through the utilization of theater arts. BE is the only theater in the nation whose mission is to eradicate racism. Other organizations work to diversify audiences, but none utilize theater to bring races together in a community which embraces similarities and fosters dialogue, understanding and acceptance.

Please join us in supporting this worthy cause!
