If you’re a fan of J-Pop and G-Pop (Garrett Popcorn, that is), you may want to check out Anime Festival Asia 2011 this weekend. The 4th year brings together some of the most influential speakers, artists, and anime shows in Japanese popular culture.  The event schedule is packed with artists such as LiSA, May’n, and FLOW, as well as special screenings of Gundam, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, and more. Don’t miss voice actress Chiwa Saitou, producer Atsuhiro Iwakami, and director Tatsuyuki Nagai. As an extra bonus, all three nights wrap up with an I Love Anisong concert marathon.

You’ll need to eat well to last a 3-day festival of shows and music. Consider Garrett Popcorn Shops® at CityLink Mall for pre-festival snacks. CaramelCrisp®, CheeseCorn™, and The Chicago Mix are all good options to fuel you through days of anime and music.

Enjoy your feast of J-Pop with G-Pop!

Underground, one must dig.

Back in the day, humanity only existed above ground. Fast forward to the 21st century and zoom into Singapore’s CityLink Mall, the underground mall connecting One Raffles Link to the City Hall and Esplanade MRT Stations. The alluring scent of Garrett Popcorn floats through the concourse, thanks to the CaramelCrisp® and CheeseCorn™ made fresh daily in the shop. Stop in for a treat – your commute will seem shorter with a bag of gourmet popcorn in hand.

Once above ground, head to The Connoisseur Concerto (tcc) for a cup of gourmet coffee to accompany your gourmet popcorn. Be sure to check out tcc’s exhibit 100 Friends 100 Artists 100 Inspirations, which features 100 portraits created by local artists. All artwork is $199 and directly benefits the TRANSMISSION:PROJECT, a studio designed by Phunk Studio to connect young artists from different backgrounds and disciplines.

But please refrain from decorating the artwork with cheesy fingers.
