Garrett Popcorn Shops

2011 was a popping year for Garrett Popcorn Shops®! In between hand-crafted batches of CheeseCorn and CaramelCrisp® and with the generosity of our customers, we ran charitable programs to support The HistoryMakers, A Silver Lining Foundation, Chicago Public Schools, The Boys & Girls Clubs, and Save the Children’s Japan Earthquake Tsunami Children in Emergency Fund.

In 2011, we were at Taste of Chicago, Magnificent Mile Lights Festival, Winter Wonderfest and around town at the Chicago Latino Film Festival. Garrett also partnered with hometown band, Wilco, to support support Jane Addams Hull House Association and to promote Wilco’s new album The Whole Love with a commemorative tin.

We expanded our Shops in 2011, including a move on November 21 from 2 West Jackson Shop to a more spacious location at 27 West Jackson. And on December 22, we opened our first stand-alone Shop at 737 East 87th Street. 87th Street was the tenth Shop to open in Chicago and the first to include a public arts project: Global Intellect by artist Rahmaan Statik. We grew internationally, too, with new Garrett Shops opening in Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong.

Garrett Popcorn Shops® would like to thank our fans and customers from around the world for a wonderful 2011. We wish you all a happy, healthy and prosperous 2012!

Kernels for Kids

Thanks to the overwhelming support and generosity of our customers, Garrett Popcorn Shops was able to raise more than $11,000 in support of Chicago’s public school children. Kernels for Kids helped fund free rides for parents and school children on the first day of school, causing Chicago Public School’s first day attendance to jump to a four year high.

Thank you for your support of our community!
